Since its foundation, the University has allocated at least 5% of its annual income to promoting research. Our virtual infrastructure facilitates the development of scientific projects in collaboration with research centers worldwide.

The Universidad de las Hespérides, through its online campus, offers numerous resources that facilitate research by our faculty and teamwork with other associated centers, both nationally and internationally.

We prioritize research applied to the professional and business world. That is why we promote research lines that meet business demands in R&D&I. To achieve this, we have signed collaboration agreements with companies and business development centers, allowing us to incorporate professionals engaged in R&D&I tasks in the corporate world into our academic team.

We promote the development of research activity among our academics and researchers through connections with our own or external research teams. In this regard, projects that promote research and knowledge transfer, such as the following, play a significant role:

The purpose of the association with national and international research groups is to contribute to the generation of new knowledge that fosters the intellectual, productive, and material progress of our society, beginning with the knowledge shared in the virtual classroom with students.

The Universidad de las Hespérides gives priority to the following initiatives to support and promote research activity:

Support for attendance at prestigious conferences to present the results of research carried out
Support for the promotion of workshops that integrate research and teaching

Research lines

The lines of research of the Universidad de las Hespérides are part of the National R&D Plan, as well as the policy of the European Research Community and the Community of the Canary Islands.

The dissemination of research results is a priority objective, promoting the publication of works such as doctoral theses, research activity reports, and more.

The Universidad de las Hespérides will collaborate closely in this area with other national and international universities, especially those in Latin America and the United States.

Support for research

The University of the Hesperides prioritizes the following research support strategies:

Incorporation of scientific talent

In order to recruit scientific and technical talent, the University will allocate part of its budget to grants for postgraduate student research; grants for the mobility of research staff and students; and grants for publications by research staff and students.

Acquisition, use and/or construction of scientific and technical infrastructure

The University has developed a major virtual campus with the necessary infrastructure for both teaching and research staff and postgraduate students. In addition, the University has acquired 290,000 square metres in the Timanfaya National Park where it is developing a research centre aimed at the relationship between the economy, entrepreneurship and the environment.

Participation in competitive projects at regional, national and international level

In order to ensure that the University's teaching and research staff participate in competitive projects, we promote all competitive and private projects at regional, national and international levels, and we facilitate the submission of these projects by members of the University. In addition, the University plans to hold its own competitive competitions for the development of regional, national and international research projects.

Collaboration with the productive sector in R&D

The University actively seeks agreements with business institutions for the development of R&D&I programs, is part of international networks for research cooperation and scientific transfer, and continually incorporates research talent with experience in R&D.
