Astrid Ayala is an experienced professor of the finance area at Universidad de las Hespérides and has over 24 years of experience in higher education. From 2003 to 2020, she was a professor at the Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala, and from 2013 to 2020, she taught at OMMA Business School Madrid.

Has a solid academic background that includes a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Navarra in 2010, an M.B.A. in Business Economics from Francisco Marroquin University in 2006, an M.B.A. in Business Administration also from Francisco Marroquin University in 1999, and a degree in Public Accountant and Auditor from the same university in 1996.

Astrid Ayala has published notable academic works, including a chapter on the risk of sovereign debt default in Central America in the book Emerging Markets and Sovereign Risk by Palgrave Macmillan in 2015, and the book Genesis and Crisis of the Moral Principles of Contemporary Western Society from the Perspective of Freudian Psychoanalysis, published by Editorial Académica Española in 2011.
